Ruger, a fast-rising Nigerian artist, recently spoke with Hip TV about his path to popularity and more. The Bounce crooner revealed the amusing story behind his name, Ruger, while speaking with Nancy Isime on the Trending show.
Michael Adebayo, the musician's real name, pointed out that his stage name, Ruger, is also the name of a pistol.
While in a music boot camp, he used to posture his hands as if he was about to shoot, and his senior colleague, D'Prince, nicknamed him Ruger.
Not content with that, the skilled vocalist pointed out that his distinctive eyepatch corresponded to his moniker because a sniper covers one eye when shooting.
The Bounce singer revealed that he used to work in Computer Village, a prominent electronics bazaar in Lagos. He claimed to be one of the good men in the place. Ruger went on to say that he was at Computer Village when D'Prince sent him a DM congratulating him on becoming a star. The musician also counseled young people who want to make it big to be patient.
